Guide to Elected Officials for Parent-Advocates at Great Hearts San Antonio: 2018 Edition

Guide to Elected Officials for Parent-Advocates at Great Hearts San Antonio: 2018 Edition | San Antonio Charter Moms

If you are a Great Hearts San Antonio parent (or supporter), and you want to invite elected officials to tour your school, or you want to contact them and share stories about your school, how do you know who to call? Which elected officials represent the physical location for your school? In the past, I’ve just looked it up for each campus as I needed the information, but then I decided to put it all in one place to make it easier to share. For suggestions or corrections, please contact me.

At this time, Great Hearts has three (or maybe four) campuses in San Antonio: Great Hearts Monte Vista South, Great Hearts Monte Vista North, Great Hearts Northern Oaks, and Great Hearts Western Hills.

It’s so important for parents to be advocates for our children’s schools, but it can be hard to navigate the overlapping layers of local, state, and federal government. I hope this guide gives you a starting point for getting involved and speaking up.

  1. This list makes it so much easier to advocate for our school! We have met with staff members from Diego Bernal’s office and have had the opportunity to share our story with Jose Menéndez. There’s a lot of misleading information about public charter schools, so I think it’s important for our elected officials to hear directly from the parents.
