Profile (Person): Dr. Michael Soto

Dr. Michael Soto represented District 3 as a Democrat on the Texas State Board of Education, which includes central and southern Bexar County (San Antonio); Medina, Atascosa, and Wilson counties; and south to Hidalgo county. However, he lost the May 29 primary to challenger Marisa B. Perez. She won in the 2012 general election and so will serve on the board beginning in 2013.
