Results from primary election 2012

An earlier post listed some races to watch. Here are the results:

  • State Board of Education, District 3: challenger Marisa B. Perez beat incumbent  Michael Soto in a Democratic primary upset. “Even With Upsets, Little Change in Control of SBOE”, Morgan Smith, Texas Tribune, May 30, 2012.
  • State Board of Education, District 5: incumbent Ken Mercer beat Steve Salyer in the Republican primary
  • State Senator, District 25: incumbent Jeff Wentworth will face Donna Campbell in a runoff Republican primary on July 31. “Wentworth will face Campbell; Jones out”, John W. Gonzalez, San Antonio Express-News, May 30, 2012.
  • State Representative, District 117: Tina Torres and Philip Cortez will enter a runoff Democratic primary on July 31
  • State Representative, District 121: incumbent Joe Straus beat Matt Beebe in the Republican primary
  • State Representative, District 125: Justin Rodriguez beat Delicia Herrera in the Democratic primary
