Runoff primary election early voting starts Monday, July 23

The runoff primary election is July 31, but early voting starts Monday, July 23. Here are some races that may impact education:

  • Texas Senate District 25: Republican runoff between Jeff Wentworth (the incumbent) and Donna Campbell
  • Texas House District 117: Democratic runoff between Philip Cortez and Tina Torres; the winner will face incumbent John D. Garza in November
  • State Board of Education District 2 (southern Gulf coast): Democratic runoff between Ruben Cortez Jr. and Celeste Zepeda Sanchez
  • State Board of Education District 10 (north Austin, Round Rock, Temple): Republican runoff between Tom Maynard and Rebecca Osborne
