BASIS opens Washington, D.C. campus next week; San Antonio next year?

The D.C. branch of Basis starts Aug. 27. This week, students are being drilled in study skills, reading and math in the school’s new Penn Quarter building as part of a voluntary two-week boot camp.

“Public charter school known for stressing hard work, depth of knowledge comes to Washington”, Olga Khazan, Washington Post, August 15, 2012. The article captures a sense of wonder at the breathtaking rigor of the BASIS curriculum. Parents seem excited: one mom moved from High Point, North Carolina to D.C. so that her two children could attend BASIS.

Will BASIS open a campus in San Antonio next year? Its charter application is still under review at the Texas Education Agency. Show your support for BASIS San Antonio by sending a message to Nick.Fleege [at] basisschools.org.
