First Day of Distance Learning

Charter Moms Chats: Inga Cotton, Founder and Executive Director of San Antonio Charter Moms, shares her thoughts and answers your questions.

For many families, this is our first day of distance learning. Inga recorded the live video from her backyard because her kids were busy at the kitchen table working on Literature: reading, annotating, looking up words in the dictionary, and working on their packets.

She is thankful to her kids’ teachers for all the hard work that went into making their packets. She feels better that the kids are not going to fall behind. A goal this week: guiding her kids to write letters to their teachers.

Inga mapped out an hourly schedule for the week, but it’s only a few hours a day of schoolwork and reading, and still has time for screen time, playing outside, family meals, and crafts.
