Charter Moms Chats

Watch Myeisha Haywood, Interim Superintendent at the School of Excellence in Education, and her colleague Tamela Harris, speak with Inga Cotton on Charter Moms Chats on April 21, 2021 at 4:00 PM Central live on Facebook and YouTube.

Myeisha Haywood joined the School of Excellence as Interim Superintendent supporting management needs and priorities at designated schools. After serving as an EdLaunch Fellow with City Education Partners, Myeisha learned the various components of launching and leading new schools in Texas. Myeisha also served as principal and administrators for grades K–12 in Arkansas. One of Myeisha’s favorite quotes is, “If someone offers you an amazing opportunity, but you are not sure you can do it, say yes, then learn how to do it as you go!” Her success in life is a true example of “Learning by Doing.” Myeisha graduated from Henderson State University with a master’s degree in teaching and educational leadership certification. She has 16 years experience in education, with 11 years in administration. Myeisha has a 19-year-old son who recently graduated from the Navy’s boot camp, but her home is not empty because she has eight-year-old triplets—two girls and a boy! When she is not working, she enjoys watching a good horror movie or the Hallmark channel. A fun fact about Myeisha is that she truly believes she could live off of Starbucks for a week or two.
