The wait is almost over: by the end of the week, the State Board of Education will decide on the charter applications from Great Hearts and BASIS.
On November 14, the State Board of Education’s Committee on School Initiatives will meet and decide which applications to recommend to the board. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. and will be webcast. The agenda is online; item 6 concerns “Proposed Selection of Open-Enrollment Charter Schools.” Here is my earlier post about all the applicants.
On November 16, the State Board of Education will hold a General Meeting. No agenda is posted yet.
There is still time to send letters of support for BASIS and Great Hearts. For those of you who have already written letters, and especially to the bus riders, many thanks for your help.
