BASIS San Antonio opened this fall, joining BASIS charter schools in Arizona and Washington, D.C.; read more in this earlier post about the dedication ceremony.
Now BASIS is expanding in a different direction, opening independent schools in New York and California: BASIS Independent Brooklyn and BASIS Independent Silicon Valley for the 2014-15 school year.
Like the charter schools, the BASIS Independent Schools are managed by BASIS.ed. Unlike the charter schools, the BASIS Independent Schools have selective admissions and charge tuition ($23,500 per year for Brooklyn; $22,500 per year for Silicon Valley).
BASIS charter schools are expanding, too—see a list of prospective schools for 2014-15. (San Antonio is not on the list.) Also, did you know that BASIS Tucson offers a primary school for grades K-4?
