[Alamo City Moms Blog] Art appreciation for kids at the McNay Art Museum

See my latest contribution to the Alamo City Moms Blog“Introducing your kids to art appreciation at the McNay Art Museum”, Inga Cotton, Alamo City Moms Blog, January 30, 2014. I had so much information to share; here are a couple of bonus photos.

If you follow the McNay on Instagram, then you’ve probably seen their mascot, Artie, getting excited about new exhibits and events. One day, my friend Veronica Rouse (Seven Lovely Things) and I were playing with our kids in the McNay’s courtyard, when we saw Artie doing a photo shoot for the 60th Birthday Party 5k. My son, F.T., was thrilled to play with Artie.

We are looking forward to taking the kids to see the Robert Indiana exhibit, “Beyond LOVE,” which opens February 5. (Take a peek at the exhibit catalog.) I think they will really appreciate the big, graphic lettering and bold colors.

These “HOPE” prints are already on display downstairs in the Stieren Center:

Give it a try, and I think you will enjoy exploring the McNay with your kids as much as Veronica and I do.
