BASIS, Great Hearts among Generation 17 charter applications approved

State Board of Education SBOE Committee on School Initiatives Great Hearts BASIS Texas Education Agency charter schools TexasThe State Board of Education granted these Generation 17 charter applications today:

  1. BASIS (San Antonio)
  2. Pro-Vision Academy (Houston)
  3. C.O.R.E. Academy (Houston)
  4. Village Tech Schools (Duncanville/Dallas)
  5. International Leadership of Texas (Dallas)
  6. Great Hearts Academy (San Antonio)
  7. Dallas Scholars Charter School
  8. Ben Yehuda Academy (San Antonio)

The board denied applications from Center for Teaching and Learning (6-7 vote) and Polaris Public School (6-6 vote).
