Look who’s coming to Texas! Carpe Diem Schools is looking at opening a campus in San Antonio for Fall 2014. In the first year, the campus would serve grades 6-10; eventually, the campus would serve grades 6-12.
Carpe Diem is a charter management organization with a network of high-performing schools based on high-tech, individualized learning. Carpe Diem is widely known for the success of its Yuma, Arizona campus. “Education Nation: In Arizona desert, a charter school competes”, Nick Pandolfo, Hechinger Report, September 24, 2012. Here is my earlier post about the blended learning model in use at Carpe Diem Meridian in Indiana.
Carpe Diem is preparing to apply for a Texas charter this year and would like to reach out to parents and community members in San Antonio. They are hosting an information session at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 16 at the offices of the San Antonio Area Foundation (note: SAAFdn offices are now located in the Lab building at the Pearl, 303 East Pearl Parkway, Suite 114). No need to RSVP.
