East Central ISD hosts dual language programs at two elementary campuses, Salado and Oak Crest. The goal of dual language immersion is for students to become proficient in two languages, English and Spanish. Under this model, teachers provide ongoing instruction in literacy and content in both languages. For the duration of the program, teachers will present at least half of the instruction in Spanish.
Students at Highland Forest Elementary and Pecan Valley Elementary, as well as some students from Sinclair Elementary, can receive dual language instruction at Salado Elementary.

STEM and Project-Based Learning
The learning model at the Leadership Academy at Salado offers project-based learning, incorporating technology, service learning, career exploration, and leadership development.
Students at Pecan Valley STEM Academy participate in the engineering design process, allowing them to learn across content areas and apply their learning in a variety of ways.

Students have the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. Learn more CAST Lead in our enrollment guide to CAST Schools.
The East Central High School P-TECH program is focused on health and science with a concentration in biology. P-TECH stands for Pathways in Technology Early College High School.
