On Friday evening, the BASIS San Antonio Boosters hosted a movie night at Woodlawn Lake Park, featuring Hugo on an inflatable Slab Cinema screen. Before the movie, students and parents had an opportunity to get to know each other and to meet the BASIS San Antonio faculty, as well as Head of School Tiffany O’Neill and Head of Operations Jeff Richards.
A steady steam of parents signed up to join the BASIS San Antonio Boosters. President Richard Gross said, “Our goal is to, as quickly as possible, make BASIS San Antonio one of the top-ranking schools in the country,” alongside other BASIS campuses, including BASIS Tucson, ranked the #2 high school in the country in 2013 by US News & World Report, and BASIS Tucson North, a global leader, as discussed in this earlier post.
In addition to Friday’s movie night, BASIS parents are organizing socials for each grade level (5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th) this week to help the families get to know each other. The campus is nearly ready, just in time for the first day of school on August 26, 2013.
Want to keep up with the BASIS San Antonio Boosters (including the executive board)? They have a mailing list, as mentioned in this earlier post.
Speaking of Woodlawn Lake Park, here’s an earlier post about recent upgrades at the Community Room. Kudos to Cris Medina (campaign site), District 7 member of the San Antonio City Council, for overseeing the ongoing improvements to this jewel of a park.
