Link: Charter and district schools ranked in “Children at Risk” report

San Antonio school rankings for 2012 were released last week by Children at Risk, a nonprofit in Houston. The report covered both charter and district schools.

“Charter schools bookend Children at Risk’s ratings, high and low,” says “Low marks for SA area schools”, May 6, 2012, in the San Antonio Express-News. Bright spots among charter schools: The School of Science and Technology ranked #3 among high schools, and KIPP: Aspire Academy ranked #10 among middle schools.

The Express-News article also notes that the best-performing district schools seem to be clustered in the Northside, North East and Comal districts. San Antonio ISD got praise for Young Women’s Leadership Academy, Austin Academy, and Bonham Academy, but low rankings for Fox Tech High School and Sam Houston High School.
