Four seats on the Harlandale ISD Board of Trustees are on the May 11 ballot; three races are contested. District 1: Juan Mancha is challenging incumbent Joshua Cerna. Mancha has the endorsement of the Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio and the San Antonio Express-News editorial board.
District 2: Christine Ann Carrillo is running unopposed; board member Tomas Uresti is stepping down.
District 3: Erma Vianney Casarez and Susie Peralta are challenging incumbent trustee and Vice President Esequiel Mendoza, Jr. Casarez has the endorsement of the San Antonio Express-News editorial board.
In District 4: Norma Cavazos, and Melissa Flores Rodriguez (Facebook) are challenging board President David Abundis. Cavazos has the endorsement of the Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio and the San Antonio Express-News editorial board. Luis Bravo has withdrawn.
The remaining seats are not up for election until 2015:
