Surrounded by family and friends, Dr. Donna Campbell greeted supporters at the opening of her district office in San Antonio yesterday morning. (She opened her New Braunfels office, a first for District 25, in the afternoon.)
Pastor John Hagee led a prayer for wise leadership. Dr. Campbell contrasted her experience in the Texas Senate, which requires consensus-building and patience, with her career as an emergency room physician, where she takes charge of a patient and gives instructions that are carried out immediately.
Dr. Campbell is only in her first term (earlier post about the 2012 campaign) but has already shown leadership on education reform issues. For example, as a member of the Senate Committee on Education, she supported SB2—the charter school bill (more in this earlier post).
Paster Hagee’s and Dr. Campbell’s remarks had a common theme: the importance of leadership based on principles—not which way the wind is blowing.
Practical matters. Dr. Campbell’s San Antonio district office is at 9601 McAllister Freeway, Suite 150, San Antonio, Texas 78216. It’s on the ground floor of a shiny office tower. The closest highway exit is Isom/Jones-Maltsberger on Highway 281. It’s in the north-central part of San Antonio, near the airport. Here’s a map:

Finally, a shout out to La Hacienda de los Barrios for the delicious tacos and fruit. Yum!
