The State Board of Education’s Committee on School Initiatives will conduct interviews with the current round (“Generation 17”) of charter school applicants in Austin in early November. Two applicants with plans to open in San Antonio, Great Hearts and BASIS, will hold their interviews on November 2, 2012. The interviews should be available on live webcast.
The Texas Education Agency calendar shows that the State Board of Education is holding committee meetings on November 14-15, 2012; during that time, the Committee on School Initiatives will likely discuss charter school applications. The full board meets on November 16, 2012 and should announce which applicants are actually getting charters.
