I learned about the Texas 2×2 Reading List from a post on Tierd (pronounced “ti-erd”: how new parents feel), a lovely and personal blog written by my high school classmate Jennifer.
Every year, a group of Texas librarians compiles a list of 20 recommended books for kids from age two to second grade. (Get it? Two by two?)
A couple of favorites from recent lists:
