From this list, only the last one is located in San Antonio. (Another charter school, San Antonio School for Inquiry and Creativity, is listed as “Recognized Nationally” by USN&WR.)
However, San Antonio has several young campuses that are part of charter management organizations with highly-ranked schools:
- Harmony School of Innovation San Antonio
- Harmony Science Academy San Antonio
- IDEA Carver
- IDEA South Flores
- KIPP University Prep
Also, there’s BASIS San Antonio, opening Fall 2013. Look at the rankings of these BASIS schools:
- BASIS Tucson (#1 Arizona, #2 national)
- BASIS Scottsdale (#2 Arizona, #5 national)
In addition, Great Hearts Texas is opening a campus in San Antonio soon. Two Great Hearts Academies schools in Arizona, Chandler Prep and Veritas Prep, are listed as “Recognized Nationally” by USN&WR.
Here’s my earlier post on the 2012 rankings.
