Plant a Raised Bed Garden with Garden-Ville
Planting a veggie and herb garden can be such a fun activity for everyone to enjoy together—children will explore their surroundings and learn how to maintain their garden, while spending quality time with other family members. And if you’re looking for a great place to find locally sourced, natural garden products such as soil, mulch and compost, look no further than Garden-Ville.
Eco Academy Curriculum
In light of our current stay-at-home situation, TDS has made Lesson 1 of its Eco Academy elementary curriculum available online for anyone to download. TDS Eco Academy is a program designed to help minimize waste in Central Texas schools by educating K–12 students about trash, recycling and composting options. The program provides training, signage, curriculum and other educational materials for staff, administrators and students at partner school districts with the goal of making learning fun and enabling real-world application.
Coloring Pages
TDS has partnered with Austin artist Becca Borrelli to launch a series of coloring pages for families to enjoy together. With hand-drawn features and robust images, the project shares fun and playful artscapes for children and parents to work on together. To download the coloring pages, visit Texasdisposal.com. Parents are encouraged to share their family’s finished product on Texas Disposal Systems’ Facebook page.
